Financing Your education
It is our sincere goal to ensure that no student is denied a Mueller College education due to a lack of
financial resources.
Payment of Tuition, Books and Supplies
You have several ways to pay for your education at Mueller College:
- Discover, MasterCard, VISA, or American Express card
- The following Title IV Federal Financial Aid programs are available for those who qualify:
1. Federal Pell Grants
2. Subsidized Stafford Loans
3. Unsubsidized Stafford Loans
4. PLUS Loans (for parents of dependent students)
- Third party payments from Veteran’s Administration, vocational rehabilitation, Trust Funds, and workers' compensation insurance
- Zero-percent interest payment plans are also available through the College.

Independent or Dependent?
Answer the following questions to determine if you should file independent or dependent on your financial aid forms:
1. Were you born before January 1st, 1988?
2. As of today, are you married? (Also answer "Yes" if you are seperated but not divorced)
3. At the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year, will you be working on a master's or doctorate program (such as an MA, MBA, MD, JD, PhD, EdD, graduate Certificate, etc.)?
4. Are you currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces?
5. Do you have children who will recieve more than half of their support from you between July 1st, 2011 and June 30th, 2012?
6. Do you have dependents (other than your children or spouse) who live with you and who receive more than half of their support from you, now and through June 30th, 2012?
7. At any time since you turned age 13, were both your parents deceased, were you in foster care or were you a dependent or ward of the court?
8. As determined by a court in your state of legal residence, are you or were you an emancipated minor?
9. As determined by a court in your state of legal residence, are you or were you in legal guardianship?
10. At any time on or after July 1st, 2010, did your high school or school district homeless liaison determine that you were an unaccompanied youth who was homeless?
11. At any time on or after July 1st, 2010, did the director of an emergency shelter or transitional housing program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development determine that you were an unaccompanied youth who was homeless?
*If you answered YES to any one of the questions above, you are an independent. If you answered NO to all the questions, you are a dependent and must provide parental information.
